the long way from minneapolis to vienna

i'm sooooo happy today! I ordered fabric weeks ago in minneapolis and it should have been here within days. at least that's what i thought so.
well!
it took a little bit longer.
it took a lot of talking on the phone.
i took a lot of talking to the customes.
it took a lot of talking with the postal office.
it took a lovely girl on the other side doing her best to find the package somewhere on the atlantic.
and it took a looooooooot of patience on myside.

but it's here and i'm loving it. unfortunatelly my sewing machine broke down on the weekend so i will not be able to rush into sewing...

but i'll show you what i got...

flea market, icecream and lots of sun

i had a wonderfull weekend. having good business news on friday evening we had a glass of prosecco to celebrate it. it's unbelievable how one little phone call can really rock.

on saturday morning (6:40 o'clock) i convinced boyfriend that he had to accompany me to the flea market. i needed somebody to do the bargaining part (official version) and the carrying part (inofficial version). he claimed i was only successful because he was still half a sleep. it is one of the best flea markets in vienna. really good stuff and non of the trashy stuff nobody wants. unfortunatelly i forgot to take pictures i was too excited! see what i got... lace ... lace ... lace...

we got really lucky. in total i/we bought
  • loooooots of vintage lace :-)
  • a small vintage leather coin bag
  • a vintage skirt (i'll take a photo as soon as it gets back from the drycleaners)
  • cushions for the kitchen chairs (some more crafting to come up)

leaving the house without any breakfast left us really hungy so we had croissants and cafe latte right at the flea market sitting in the sun and enjoying.

in the afternoon we went to see the Vienna Air King show. extrem biking and jumping over huge ramps. crazzy kids...

sunday was just as much fun. had a wonderful breakfast with a friend and met a friend of hers. the friend has just started her own business. what a pitty that she is located in belgium. we sat in the sun and visited the vienna air king show again. had icecream and getting much to much sun.

all in all a wonderful weekend. take care t:t

ps: I had promised photos of the green dinner. I fogot to take photos. this always happens when i'm excited. sorry. but i took one in the moring from the leftovers...

what to do

... when mornings seem so grey and dreary? it’s cold and foggy outside and it rained when i woke up this morning. a typical late-winter-early-spring-day in vienna.

what to do? make a hot cup of coffee (my favourite mug) and treat yourself to an original sacher-torte (gave to me when i visited their bar the other day for a drink with my parents and a dear family friend from new zealand). not that i would eat sacher-torte on a regular basis (all those calories…) but today is an emergency…

we have invited friends over for a green supper tonight. everybody is supposed to wear green and we will only have green food. fun fun fun… tell you more about it tomorrow – maybe even pics…

take care t:t

ps: this is really working nicely. only two days since i gave my blog another chance. and tadahh another post

a second try

this morning - drinking coffee - i decided to give it a secound try. lots of things need a second try. i had started a blog - as a new year resoltuion - this january. Entered a couple of things and ... and ... and. NOTHING!

i figured at the time that i just didn't have enough to say and i felt writing in english would be too difficult on the long run. now after several hours - mainly in the middle of the night - raking through other blogs i'll give it another try. i have learned from all you ladies across the globe that it is fun being so connected in this world. it's wonderful hearing and reading from other lives in other countries with other habbits. all of you have been a great source for creativity. and now i will also try to add something.

cross your fingers
